Privacy Policy
Coolinarka does not collect any data about you.
What the app does with data
- Your recipes, photos, notes and meal plan are stored in the app on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they sync through your private iCloud account. On Android, the system backup may save them to your Google account. The developer has no access to them.
- When you save a link, the app downloads the recipe page and its preview image directly from your device. For videos (YouTube, TikTok) it reads only the public description, the preview image and, on TikTok, the public captions TikTok offers to viewers; if the description links to a recipe on the author's website, it downloads that page too. The video itself is never downloaded. Links are not sent anywhere else.
- Speech in a video you choose or record is transcribed on your device. The speech model is downloaded by the system (Apple or Google); neither the video nor the transcript leaves your phone. The camera is used only for photos you take yourself. When the app opens, it checks whether the clipboard contains a link (without reading its content) and offers to save it.
- Online shopping is optional: the app opens the page of the store you choose in your browser, and the store receives the search word. The list and your recipes are not sent to it. For your own store whose search the app does not recognize, the search word goes through the DuckDuckGo search engine. Your own stores are saved only on your device.
- Signing in to Facebook is optional and happens on Facebook's own page in a built-in browser; the app never sees your password. The sign-in stays on your device and the app uses it only to read posts you save yourself. You can sign out in the app (Sign out of Facebook).
- Text recognition from screenshots happens on your device. On Android the app uses the Google ML Kit library for this: the image and the recognized text never leave your phone (Google Play services download the model for Chinese, Korean and Hindi on first use), but ML Kit sends Google technical data for diagnostics and usage statistics (device manufacturer, model and OS version, app version, a per-installation identifier that does not identify you or your device, recognition speed and error codes). The data is encrypted in transit and Google does not pass it to third parties. Details: Google ML Kit data disclosure.
- The shopping list syncs like your recipes (iCloud). It is written to Reminders only when you tap the button; from then on Reminders handles it according to your Reminders account (for example syncing through iCloud).
- The app contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it needs no account.
Plus purchase
The optional one-time Coolinarka Plus purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or, on Android, Google Play. The app only receives confirmation from them that the purchase is valid and collects no payment or personal data. The calorie calculation runs on your device and your recipes are not sent anywhere for it.
Children
The app is not designed to collect data from children and collects no data at all.
